fangsalot Third Instar Jul 24, 2010 #2 now,i know what it sounds like when they hiss when you handle them..but i keep hearing them make a hissing that sounds almost like a cicada or rattle snake.what are they doing in there?is it a mating thing,or territory?i hear it like 10 times a day.

Ralph Panchlora Jul 24, 2010 #3 They have a lot of different hisses for mating, disturbance, etc. I haven't heard anything like a rattlesnake, but it might be fighting males.
