Wanted: Hermaphrodite roach

Keith

Megaloblatta
Species needs to be any Hisser, dubia, or craniifer/fusca. Want to buy if you are lucky to find one in your colony.

I don't think they will be able to breed, but I do want one to keep as a pet because they are awesome! If one does breed it will be a miracle!

Gynandromorph are not hermaphrodite. An hermaphrodite animal can breed, as a male or as a female, but a gynandromorph can't. It's usually a female with caracteristic of a male, or a specimen half "male", half "female". In both case, they won't breed because there are no true gonads and spermatheca. I heard many experiences when I was breeding phasmids a few years ago, they were never fertile ;)

So then I was right to say half male/half female? Split down the middle exactly. You would see the oddity.

Hermaphrodites do show visible oddities right!
