Black Periplaneta americana

Hi Guys,

long time I write here. Let me post some interesting pics. There is a 13 years old Periplaneta americana colony. And suddenly a black color morph showed up!

I do not know are there any possibilities that they are hybrids or not. Let's start the discuss. They are our roaches of course.

Very cool!!!

There are black German cockroaches and I own a pure black dubia, so why not american cockroach? You should seperate those and breed them together to try and start a new kind!

Yeah you should isolate the morph!

Of course I do! Also I will try to cross them with the white eye morph and call them 'Venom' from Spiderman.

If I remember correctly on ROACH PARADISE the nymphs were also black.

The guy on Roach paradise says he is not the same person, so this morph has been found at least 2x.

I used to catch a very dark color nymph of P.americana in my school. But when it grew up, its color turned into a common form. What a shame!

I noticed that Shipi's roaches look like they've got clearer hearts on their pronotums! I would isolate them and call them all love bugs.
