Wanted: Spirostreptus sp. "8" Male

Arthroverts

Seventh Instar
EDIT: Looks like he actually turned out to be a female! Still looking for a male.

Hello all, I have what I believe is a recently matured female Spirostreptus sp. "8", also known as a Green Fairy Tail Millipede. I had a male for her, but she was immature at the time and then he died from old age.

I'm not looking to outright purchase right now, as my financial situation regarding invertebrates is, how should I say, "low". I do have some stuff to trade however, and I would be open to a breeding loan like they do with tarantulas (you must have good reviews and be in good standing with the invertebrate community for me to trade/loan with you). I have reviews as well that I can share upon request.

Please let me know if you have a male available! I would also be interested in purchasing/trading for immatures of this species.

Thanks,

Arthroverts

@Hisserdude, I do not. I avoid social media outside of forums for easily-found reasons. I may try that though if I cannot find one anywhere on here or within my connections.

Thanks,

I know bugsincyberspace occasionally has some juveniles for sale and aquarimax should also have some as well. You can try asking them but I don’t knownif they have adults.

@mantisfan101, those would be Spirostreptus sp. "1" if you are talking about the ones that BIC is selling right now. I am looking for a much larger species known as "8" that is a deep green with brown-black stripes. I'd upload a photo but Roach Forum has a very limited file size for uploads.

Thanks,

I've asked around, but a quick search revealed there are basically NO posts of sp. "8" on facebook from US keepers, (that I can find at least), I think you may have the last of them... Who'd you get yours off of?

@Hisserdude, thank you for your efforts. I bought them second-hand from a guy who got them from @Redmont, but the other died before this one matured (at least I think it's mature; very little information on this species).

I do know a person on Arachnoboards who may have some...

Thanks,

Ah OK, well they were probably imported here in very small amounts then, and sadly a lot of people who keep millipedes don't try to breed them... :( I'll keep looking, hope that Arachnoboards lead goes somewhere!
