The shadow roaches should do fine in that substrate. More than fine, they are very hardy. To be honest that substrate seems to me more expensive than what is necessary but we don't always go for the bare minimum in this hobby. Sometimes we like to spoil our bugs- I get that! I don't have the...

This probably isn't what you want to hear but it's the truth. It is a longshot to find someone who will take them as pets. I hope you find someone, I honestly do.
