Can Normal hissing roaches crossbreed with Halloween Roaches

So the person i got my hissing and Halloween roaches from (Gromphadorhina portentosa and Elliptorhina javanica) said that they can't crossbreed but i read online that they can? im hoping they can crossbreed but i would like to know if they can or not so i dont waste time hoping they can

 
Only hissers within the same genus can crossbreed. For example - G.oblongonota with G.grandidieri, E.laevigata with E.chopardi, etc.

There is an exception with P.vanwaerebecki (which should be reclassified as a Gromphadorhina sp.) being able to crossbreed with Gromphadorhina spp., but that is all.

 
I wouldn't want to cross breed because this is happening already and many people are unhappy.  The pure specimens are disappearing.  This is what I've found in my research.
