Are you able to ship to the US? If so i might be interested in trading...~Samuel
NO, NO and NO. The port of entry is the Customs Department in San Francisco. ALL containers coming in from that part of the world are routed through there and inspected. If you bring in anything alive, it will be held in quarrentine for 90 days and then destroyed, no questions asked. You will then get a note from the government in the paper or box your package was in saying that you were about to receive contraband material and they destroyed it for you per USDA code bla bla bla point bla.

Importation of livestock is illegal into the United States and subject to a $300- $5000 fine PER offense, as they see it. You can in some rare circumstances go to jail for up to 20 years max. You must obtain a permit first from APHIS/ USDA which is also a permit that has to be cleared by the Department of Homeland Security. Two of these three organizations will not allow any foreign livestock arrive if it is going to a private non-certified residence.

To make a potentially longer story short, you will not receive them if you buy or trade for them, and you can get into serious trouble.

Why is this such a big deal to get roaches? The USA recognizes the extremes of what can happen by introducing non-native pathogens via some vector (roaches) intentionally or accidentally into our landscape that would devestate crops, forests, or otherwise. While there are alot of ways this can happen, but they do what they can to prevent it.

I can go on about my personal experiences, but suffice it to say buy from domestic sources only and don't risk more than you know just for a roach or other insect.

Many of the items in Vixvy's list did not require permits the last time I brought them in, though they would all need to be declared on the customs forms. I'd recommend you call your local USDA or Fish & Wildlife office for details on the specifics. I'd also recommend a customs broker to handle all the paperwork for you. It's not really cost effective unless you are bringing in hundreds or thousands of dollars worth of material, but it is legal.

I've legally imported thousands of bugs through the port at Sea-Tac.

Well guys try to search my reviews. I have sent many stuff to most part of America including Arizona, Los Angeles, Florida, and some parts of Germany, Greece, Switzerland, Netherlands and Canada. I know why Matt is saying that I agree but I think the saying goes "no guts no glory". I just want to offer my help but if you don't need it and don't trust me better let this thread be gone by itself.

I think I know why Matt is referring to some legal stuff its because He is associated with Jeff Arimas(Jeffinsectdried)of Bacolod. Jeff also ships stuff overseas the same method that I use. Just another info that I want to share the roaches that was labeled as Panesthia sp. is actually panesthia angustipennis it can be found in norther part of luzon and also in the souther part of mindanao.

Peace.
