Help with sexing P. pallida, please...

Huntsman

Fourth Instar
I would like to urgently find out how to differentiate between the sexes of this species. I found an oetheca sticking out of the one I was convinced was the male! :P

Please post pics if available.

The males and females look similar thought the males are smaller. The way to check the gender is the same as for other blaberids. Look at the underside of the end of the abdomen, the last visible segment will be tiny if it's a male, large on the female.

Hiya Orin!

Ah, heck! So there's no speedy way to feed them off? :o

So what are the brown/purple ones? They can't be juvies because they're bigger than the adults in many cases.

I'm really confused with this species, and I don't want to feed all my females off... *boo hoo*

If you see a nymph larger than an adult it's a female nymph and the adult you're comparing it to is a male (almost certainly).
