Feeding carrots

Is it ok to feed my hissing cockroaches tinned carrots in water

I use fresh carrots with moderate success.

I've never tried anything but fresh, but if they don't have any salt or added sugars or preservatives I think it should be ok ... I'm not an expert though.

I have used canned peas that were free of salt before. I rinsed them thoroughly and then used a dehydrator .. my roaches and isopods love that!
